Driver Role Guide

Ground Vehicles

Runs the Bobcat light transport, Ural cargo truck, or L2A6 main battle tank — moving squads across the 256km² map fast and earning transport/logistics cash on top of combat kills. Vehicles are expensive to replace, so map awareness matters more than gunskill here.

Driver Unlock Progression

Levels are within the Driver tree, not your overall WARDOGS account level. Sourced from early-access and beta gameplay — verify against the latest patch notes if you're mid-season, since Bulkhead tunes unlock costs and levels per patch.

Lv.15

Bulletproof Humvee

First real Driver unlock. Bring IEDs/C4 to snipe enemy spawn vehicles and collect road kills.

Lv.20

Large Crate

Boosts resupply-run XP, but doesn't change the fundamental grind much.

What Players Are Saying

Community consensus from current early-access play — a read on the present patch, not a permanent tier list. Expect this to shift after balance passes.

Widely called the single most tedious tree to level solo — most of its reliable XP comes from resupply runs to the objective, since you can't rely on teammates preferring a ground vehicle over a helicopter ride.

Making Money as Driver

Role-specific tactics — for the full cross-role money-making guide, see How the WARDOGS Economy Works.

  • The fastest way through the Driver grind for most players isn't soloing it: ride along as gunner or co-driver for a friend who's already unlocked a vehicle (up to and including a tank crew). Everyone inside a vehicle gets that vehicle's role XP whenever it scores a kill — not just whoever's driving.
  • Filling resupply runs with actual cargo instead of driving empty adds reliable income on top of any combat kills you pick up along the way.
